In partnership with the Seattle Office of Economic Development, next Monday, April 28th, 2025, at 9 am , we will be hosting in our center an Information Session for the new round of the Tenant Improvement Program.  Eligible brick & mortar businesses located within the Seattle City limits (at least 2 years in operation) can apply for funds to get new signage or equipment essential to their activity. The application with updated information will open on the day of the session. Last year, for example, a legacy business that we helped apply for this program was awarded about $15k to replace refrigeration merchandisers they had had since they opened their store in 1998! People can still request an interpreter this week, if needed, at (206)701-1470. Please share with businesses that could use that extra help! Information will be updated here .

Our street mural in the news

The region’s newest piece of literal street art is a mural by Seattle artist Romel Belleza (Ilocano, Tlingit and Dishchii Bikoh N’Dee) on the  asphalt of a “Stay Healthy” street in the Little Brook neighborhood of Lake City . In bright red and baby blue, the  Tlingit ocean monster  — a traditional creature in Shatx’Heen Kwaan storytelling — guards the intersection alongside two smaller, Chilkat blanket sections. ~ Crosscut Read the article  here
